Defend Their Lives

Special Needs Education Uplifts Students,
Parents and Communities.

We provide advocacy support to assist families in pinpointing learning difficulties.

Some families already have an analysis and are being served by an IEP/504. But, many parents can’t be certain about the extent of
their child’s educational needs. They seek advocacy support to help them identify what may be affecting their child’s education.

What Does An Advocate Do?

  • “We make educational decisions based on the best interests of the student — always.”
  • “We know State and Federal law that pertain to special needs.”
  • “We keep parents informed of their children's rights and their rights.”
  • “We conduct classroom observations, review records and meet with student, parents and teachers. Then make recommendations about services, programs and accommodations to meet students' individual needs.”
  • “We teach parents how to advocate for their child by preparing them for IEP/504* meetings.”
  • “We review and organize all special education documents, including files, assessments, report cards and observation reports prior to IEP/504.”
  • “We help parents interpret school assessments and reports.”
  • “We accompany parents to IEP, 504, and other relevant school meetings to provide advice, support and assistance.”
  • “We offer to review IEP/504 documents prior to parent signature.”
  • “We draft letters, responses, concerns and requests to schools and district officials.”

How Do Parents Know the Extent of Their Child’s Educational Needs?

Understandably, many parents can’t be certain about these issues. They seek advocacy support to help them identify what may be affecting their child’s education. And this is what we do — assist families to pinpoint learning difficulties. Some families already have an analysis and are being served by an IEP/504. We can review these documents to ensure we meet all your needs.
